Edinburgh University installs a state-of-the-art Scintigraphy system

Southern Scientific Limited is pleased to announce the installation of the MiE Equine Gantry System at the University of Edinburgh, Royal Dick Veterinary School.

During February, the equine scintigraphy scanner was installed on site replacing an existing system.
The three day installation was followed by application training by our professional team.

All staff are extremely happy with the system and marked improvements in image quality have been noticed. Carolyne Sheridan, Scintigraphy Lead, commented that scan times have been significantly reduced thus reducing radiation dose to staff. 

Overall, staff were impressed by the manoeuvrability, ease of use of software, the motion correction package and additional processing tools.

The site is hoping to use the system for
small animal imaging in the future.
