Southern Scientific add new chemical and biological detection products from Bertin Instruments

Since the acquisition of Saphymo by Bertin last year, Southern Scientific are pleased to announce that we are now able to offer additional capabilities in chemical and biological detection from Bertin.  In particular the Second Sight, chemical gas detection camera – the only stand off gas cloud detector for real time surveillance and source localisation at a distance for up to several hundred meters.  The instrument based on infra red technology makes visible emissions that may otherwise be invisible to the naked eye.

On offer for both military/CBRN customers as well as industrial users has been recently purchased by the Los Angeles Police Department to protect major city events from the risk of terrorist attacks and has also been used at the UEFA 2012 European Championships and FIFA 2014 World Cup and has also been implemented by the oil/gas industry.

For early warning of bio-aerosol particles the Coriolis RECON is a portable, light and ruggedized sampler for biological warfare agents which can be quickly deployed by CBRN teams or first responders.

Together with the Saphymo GammaTRACER and SpectroTRACER environmental radiation monitoring systems, which have been implemented at UK sites for maintenance free continuous monitoring over a wide area, a complete CBRN range can now be offered from Saphymo/Bertin.
