Capintec’s CRC®-55tR dose calibrator continues to be fully supported by Mirion Technologies in place of the Biodex Atomlab™ 500
Service and support has been withdrawn for the Biodex Atomlab™ 500 Dose Calibrator
Following Mirion Technologies’ acquisition of both Capintec and Biodex, Mirion has announced the withdrawal of service and support for the Biodex Atomlab™ 500 Dose Calibrator, leaving Capintec’s CRC® series as the only fully supported range of dose calibrators.
Capintec’s CRC®-55tR dose calibrator allows the reliable measurement and preparation of radiopharmaceutical doses for nuclear medicine and radioimmunotherapy applications. Its high-pressure ion chamber is capable of accurately measuring doses as high as 6 Ci (equivalent to 250 GBq) and the touchscreen display has over 80 radionuclides with half-lives stored, compared to the Atomlab’s™ 12.
Automated QC and self-diagnostics
The CRC® series includes a high level of automation to facilitate efficiency and reduce human errors. Automated Quality Controls include constancy, linearity, and geometry testing. Self-diagnostics and subtraction methods are also automated, and reference sources stored in the touchscreen display automatically calculate decay correction for time and date.
For PET applications, the CRC®-55t PET dose calibrator has reduced chamber pressure and increased bias voltage to increase the maximum activity range for high-energy PET isotopes. The CRC® series’ chamber can be positioned up to 100 feet away from the touchscreen display to allow remote measurement and preparation.
