14th September 2023
FLIR’s R225 is a quick, sensitive, and handheld gamma spectrometer capable of detecting and identifying commonly used medical radioisotopes
The identiFINDER R225 is FLIR’s newest Spectroscopic Personal Radiation Detector, providing exceptional sensitivity. It is a reliable lightweight handheld instrument for Nuclear Medicine, quickly identifying commonly used gamma-emitting medical radioisotopes such as Technetium-99m, Iodine-131, and Fluorine-18 in a matter of seconds.
With improved screen brightness, an extended battery life of 30 hours, and clear visual/audible alerts, the R225 is ideal for busy wards. It allows Classified Workers – those likely to receive a radiation dose above 6mSv per year according to the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 – to detect radioactivity and identify the radionuclide contents of clinical waste.
