FLIR’s improved CG/MS chemical identifier has been developed specifically to identify trace amounts in complex mixtures
Teledyne FLIR have released the Griffin™ G510x Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), a portable chemical identifier optimized for the detection of explosives and drugs. It provides confirmatory identification and analysis of over 3,500 different metabolites and compounds with major and minor chemical constituents in less than five minutes.
The G510x has been developed specifically to identify trace amounts of drugs in complex mixtures, which are becomingly increasingly common. It can detect and identify as little as a 2% fentanyl concentration mixed in a background of common pain relievers. It has versatile sampling options for liquid, solid, and vapor SPME samples and high-fidelity identification of compounds due to separation of the complex mixtures.
It provides near real-time confirmation of presumptive techniques, including:
- Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
- Raman Spectroscopy
- High Pressure Mass Spectrometry (HPMS)
Key features
- SWGDRUG library provides analysis of trace or bulk compounds.
- WiFi and GPS along with WiFi hotspot allows for real-time remote monitoring and control.
- High fidelity, low thermal mass (LTM) GC column for high precision and throughput.
- 4-hour battery life.
- Built-in touch screen with guided prompts and threat alarms.
- Integrated sample injection port for environmental, forensic, and hazardous material sampling.
