Improving nuclear security at home
Southern Scientific is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the British Government's Radiological Nuclear Detection Framework to supply, service, and maintain leading radiological nuclear detection equipment in support of the Home Office. The Framework is a crucial initiative aimed at enhancing the procurement and deployment of detection systems by Counter Terrorism Policing and other public bodies supporting the Home Office’s strategic goals of improving the reliability and robustness of the UK’s domestic nuclear security infrastructure.
As part of this partnership, Southern Scientific may provide a range of equipment, specifically handheld, backpack, and large volume static radiation detectors, with customised configuration and integration at key sites when necessary. These systems will help protect critical areas and ensure rapid detection of radiological threats.

> Handheld Detection Systems

These portable systems enable users to search for and identify radiological and nuclear materials on foot while wearing the backpacks, making them ideal for areas that are difficult to access by vehicle.
> Large Volume Static Systems
Strategically placed at key access points, these portable and relocatable detectors monitor high-traffic or sensitive areas around critical infrastructure. The systems are scalable, allowing them to be configured for different site layouts, and can be remotely monitored from a single centralised control point.
