Non-destructive, non-invasive, high-contrast imaging
Time Domain Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (TD-NMR) is one of the most useful methods for material analysis. Also known as NMR relaxometry, it is non-destructive, non-invasive, and provides precise measurements of lean tissue, fat tissue, and fluid in small animal specimens.
Bruker’s minispec LF Series are benchtop whole body composition analyzers which use TD-NMR with a stable, cryogen-free homogenous magnetic field and a combination of radiofrequency pulses. By carefully handling specimens without anaesthetics, it provides researchers with a new standard for imaging in longitudinal studies.
Perform daily measurements in just two minutes
Measurements are easy to run, taking less than two minutes with no sample preparation or consumables. Because specimens do not need to be anaesthetised, animal stress is reduced and measurements can be taken more frequently – even daily – with negligible effects on metabolism. Software is compliant with 21 CFR Part 11 to ensure the reliability, authenticity, and integrity of recorded electronic data.
The minispec LF Series is already being used for characterising, screening, and phenotyping in laboratories, delivering high-contrast images between fat and muscle, and is available in three models:
> LF50 for specimens up to 60 g
> LF90II for specimens up to 700 g
> LF110 for specimens up to 1000 g
