Radioactive vial tongs
The Hoy tongs for vials are designed for use when you need a fast and safe grip for the handling of a hot radioactive vial.
Southern Scientific is pleased to offer these unique spring-grip vial tongs from Hoy Scandinavian. Produced in different lengths, angled for use around shielding and with alternative claw types, the Hoy tongs are suitable for a variety of vial-handling applications. The spring grip and claw design allow for secure vial handling with minimal effort or skill.
The 2 gripping claws with a radius equal to the cap radius of the vials, gives an excellent grip of the vial. One claw has an edge that ensures a fast and safe grip on the vial aluminium cap. The tongs are designed so that you simply push the white disc against the handle to open the claws. The spring locking automatically holds the vials during the transport of the vial without having to hold and secure the vial.
The claws are very tiny and it is, therefore, possible to grip a vial in a very tiny container safely. The short tongs are for working behind a shielding and the long model is for more free use. The model with the long claws is for vials in deep shielding.
