SXI systems combine the penetrating power x-rays with single-sided imaging that produces clear images any radiographer or technician can easily interpret. any radiographer or technician can easily interpret. Unlike traditional transmission x-ray imaging, Nucsafe's patented technique makes use of backscatter photons (X-rays) to image from the same side of the target as the X-ray source, this is X-ray Backscatter Radiography by Selective Detection (RSD). In recent years the space shuttle has not flown without first being checked by an SXI, RSD instrument from Nucsafe.
